With the pandemic and social distancing going on, right now is the perfect time to clean up your online marketing strategy. Being a small business and with the uncertainty of the near future means you don’t have millions, thousands, or even maybe hundreds of dollars to spend on marketing. So you want to make sure your online marketing strategy is on point and cost effective. Here are 7 ways to optimize your digital marketing strategy:
- CLEAN UP YOUR WEBSITE
When someone goes to your website it only takes them a few seconds to decide whether they are going to stay on your page. So it’s important to capture their attention immediately. First, start by asking yourself if I were a new client what would I be looking for. This could be contact information, pricing, etc. Once you have established these topics make sure they are easily found on the website. The most important topics (ex. contact information) need to be easily found no matter what page you are on.
2. OPTIMIZE YOUR WEBSITE FOR MOBILE
We all know those little handheld devices that never leave our sight. Whether it’s an Apple or an Android, most of us have some form of attachment to those small, but very powerful devices. I have a little minor panic attack every time I can’t find mine and whether this is healthy or not, we can all agree that they are a vital part of our online marketing strategy. Remember those topics you found that were important to be found when searching on your website? They should be easily found as well on a mobile device. To take it a step further, think of things that are mobile specific that someone may be searching for.
3. KEYWORD ANALYSIS
This is a very important subject and should be revised often. Top keywords change all the time depending on what people are searching for. These keywords can be used for multiple platforms and can help drive traffic to your various websites.
4. BLOG
Blogging is a great tool to show prospective people that you are an expert in your field. With the pandemic going on and having some extra time at home, writing a few blogs would be great. You could also come up with a schedule on when to post those blogs.
5. SOCIAL MEDIA OPTIMIZATION
Social Media is an extremely powerful tool that could be used to get prospective customers and to keep your current customers. It is not just a great way to show what your business has to offer, but also show your clients/potential clients who you are as a company or individual.
6. GOOGLE ANALYTICS
Google Analytics is software that allows you to see in-depth data about visitors on your website. This is one of the most important software for your business and can help you take your business to the next level.
7. BRAND IDENTITY
Last but not least is analyzing or creating brand identity. Do people have a positive or negative outlook about your brand? Why? What can be done to improve this? These are the questions that should be asked. Research should be done to answer these and then a plan should be created in order to improve your brand identity.
