Strategy Doesn’t Have to Mean Doing More
Small business owners are surrounded by advice about what they should be doing.
Post more.
Try another platform.
Use AI.
Build the funnel.
Start the newsletter.
Follow the trends.
But more isn’t always the answer.
Jenine Young is a Strategic Marketing Advisor, speaker, workshop facilitator, and founder of Social Linkage. She helps small business owners simplify scattered marketing, make clearer strategic decisions, and build sustainable momentum without adding more to already full plates.
Her approach combines strategic marketing, Design Thinking, systems thinking, and nearly a decade of real world business experience to help entrepreneurs determine what actually makes sense for their goals, customers, resources, and capacity.
Because the goal isn’t to do everything.
It’s to know what matters, what fits, and what to do next.

Speaking & Workshop Topics
Start With Clarity
Sometimes the best marketing strategy starts with deciding what to do.
Small business owners often assume inconsistent results mean they need another tactic, platform, or tool. But sometimes the real problem isn’t a lack of marketing. It’s a lack of clarity.
Jenine helps audiences step out of reactive marketing, identify what actually deserves their attention, and make intentional strategic decisions before adding something else to their plates.
Topics can include: strategic priorities, marketing decision making, opportunity filtering, and moving from scattered activity to focused action.
Capacity-First Marketing
The best marketing strategy is one you can actually sustain.
Marketing advice often assumes entrepreneurs have unlimited time, energy, resources, and attention.
Real life says otherwise.
Jenine introduces a capacity-first approach that helps business owners consider not only what could work, but what they can realistically execute and sustain within their current season.
Participants learn to make strategic tradeoffs prioritize what matters, and create marketing that works with their available capacity instead of constantly demanding more of it.
Topics can include: capacity aware planning, sustainable consistency, strategic tradeoffs, prioritization, and building marketing around real life constraints.
From Scattered to Strategic
If everything is a priority nothing is.
There will always be another opportunity, idea, platform, project, or strategy worth pursuing.
The challenge isn’t finding more possibilities. It’s deciding which ones deserve to move forward right now.
Jenine helps audiences filter competing priorities, create strategic focus, and turn ideas into manageable action that builds sustainable momentum.
Topics can include: prioritization, strategic filtration focused execution, decision making, and sustainable momentum.
AI Without Overwhelm
AI should reduce your workload, not become another thing to manage.
New AI tools and capabilities are appearing constantly, creating pressure for business owners to adopt more technology simply to keep up.
But having access to AI does not automatically mean it understands your business, your audience, or what you are trying to accomplish.
Jenine helps audiences think strategically about where AI can genuinely support their work, what should remain human led, whether using AI actually creates value or simply adds another layer of complexity.
Participants learn to evaluate AI based on their goals, capacity, quality expectations, and the work they are actually trying to improve.
Topics can include: intentional AI use, AI decision making, human led and AI supported work, workflow integration, quality evaluation, and capacity.

What Audiences Can Expect
Jenine believes a great session shouldn’t leave people with 17 new things to add to their to do list.
It should help them know what to do next.

What Shifts in the Room
From Capability to Sustainable Capacity
During a Boots to Business workshop at Fort Eustis, Jenine was walking participants through Capacity-First strategy and the difference between being capable of doing something and having the capacity to sustain it well.
When one participant said that if his strategy required 18-hour workdays, he would simply work 18 hours, Jenine asked:
“How long can you sustain that?”
He paused. The room did too.
Jenine then brought the question back to the full group:
“Are you building your strategy for your real life or your ideal life?”
Participants reacted immediately. One asked her to repeat the question. Others laughed, nodded, and recognized the tension in their own plans.
The moment shifted the conversation from what entrepreneurs could force themselves to do to what they could realistically sustain while building their business.
